Introduction: McDonald’s has undoubtedly been one of the
biggest success stories of the last century. The kind of respect and place it
enjoys among consumers and corporate alike is unparalleled. It has moved far ahead
from its start of 1 restaurant in 1940, built by McDonald brothers (Dick and Mac)
to its current strength of over 30,000 outlets in over 120 countries. But the
kind of service and quality of food is surprisingly constant the world over. It
entry into the Indian markets began in the year 1996 with opening up of its first
family restaurant in Vasant Vihar, New Delhi. And After that it has grown from
strength to strength and is currently having over 58 outlets in over 10 cities.
The project title "Marketing Strategies of McDonald’s" deals mainly
with the consumer behaviour. In this project, the extensive market research regarding
McDonald’s and its products and some of their competitors like Nirula’s,
Wimpy’s, etc. There has been a stiff competition among the different fast
food brands.
