Introduction:
Career Counselling has always been very important but only
recently got the recognition it deserves. American author Napoleon Hill has
wisely remarked, No man can succeed in a line of Endeavour which he does
not like. It means that one needs to be a right track coupled with an appropriate
set of skills of flourish outright.
Career Counsellors believe that Senior secondary School are
the platforms where students explore, experiment and enhance their life skills.
It is at this stage that Career Counselling chalk out all possible
career lines for the teenagers bringing a number of new and profitable professions
in their knowledge.
Secondary School students need career counselling the most,
because it is here that the young students are introduced to a range
of subjects they can select from the colleges and university they can go to
and the profession they can enter. In Senior Secondary School career
counselling largely revolves around students interests and skill only
to guide them towards the most felicitous career path.
Objectives of the Study:
The following objectives are formulated for the proposed study:
1 To study importance of career counselling for Senior Secondary school.
2 To study the expectations of science Students in career counselling
from their schools.
