Introduction: The project discusses “Human Resource Activities in Three Major Indian Banks”. The Indian financial system consists of institutions, which are having two fold functions i.e., savings on side and investment on the other side among the people. Banking system is a part of the Indian Financial system and its main aim is to promote savings and investment among the public. With the rapidly changing world there has been many changes introduced in the field of banking and finance.
PUNJAB NATIONAL BANK: Established in 1985 in Lahore, undivided India, PNB has distinction of being the first Indian bank to have been started solely with Indian capital. From its modest beginning, the bank has grown in size and structure to become of 3850 branches spread over the country with huge manpower.
INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK: IOB was founded on February 10th 1937, by Shri. Chidambaram Chettyar. It started serving independent India with 38 branches, now it has it has 1419 branches in India & 6 branches in overseas.
CANARA BANK: Sound founding principles, enlightened leadership, unique work culture and remarkable adaptability to changing banking environment have enabled Canara Bank to be a frontline banking all over India with a dedicated workforce of 55363 as on 31st March 2000.
